POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, coordinating workflows, and providing leadership and guidance to production staff. This role ensures that work orders are completed accurately and efficiently, production schedules are maintained, and customer requirements are met while supporting continuous improvement, workplace safety, and operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee production Team Leads across Cutting, Cuffing/Seaming, Quality & Parts, and Shipping.
- Coordinate workflow across production stations, ensuring work orders are completed and recorded efficiently.
- Maintain and update the production order status board and manage production schedules from order creation through shipment.
- Coordinate workforce planning, overtime requirements, and labour allocation to meet customer demands.
- Monitor work order accuracy, coach production employees, and provide feedback on individual performance.
- Review work orders daily to ensure materials and labour are accurately recorded before closure.
- Participate in material and labour variance reviews and identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency.
- Work with the Warehouse Team Lead to resolve shipping issues and communicate updates to the Manufacturing Manager.
- Maintain health and safety records, employee training records, and contractor and equipment records.
- Participate in health and safety investigations and collaborate with Human Resources on safe return-to-work programs.
- Identify equipment issues and coordinate reporting with Maintenance and the Manufacturing Manager.
- Review production-related purchasing requirements, including PPE and production tools, and submit requests to the appropriate manager.
- Submit weekly employee timesheets to Human Resources and address missed punches and absences daily.
- Provide feedback to the Manufacturing Manager regarding employee performance, onboarding, annual reviews, and cross-training.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and the Albarrie Code of Conduct.
- Maintain positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships with employees and management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced, multi-shift, made-to-order manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising production employees and coordinating workflows.
- Proven track record of implementing successful continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and general plant health and safety requirements.
- Working knowledge of production scheduling, workflow coordination, and work order management.
- Excellent supervisory, coordination, and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to provide leadership, coaching, and direction in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
